Niello Concours at Serrano
The Niello Concours at Serrano in El Dorado Hills, California entered its 12th year this past weekend. The weather was perfect for a car show on the greens and this year celebrated the automobiles of Cadillac and Ferrari.
As most folks in Northern California know the Niello name is synonymous with European car dealerships including Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Porsche and Maserati. In hosting the Concours the Niello company uses its extensive contacts and corporate partners to host a top class Concours with the majority of entries coming from the Sacramento region.
The fact that entries are all within a relative short drive is surprising as an attendee discovers that they live so close to a wide variety of amazing cars including several notable Ferraris and a couple of Lamborghini Diablos, Murcielagos and an Aventador.
The contingent of classic works was strong as well and a reminder of how far car technology has come. While examining a magnificent vintage Cadillac it highlighted the progress of modern design that places an emphasis on getting more power our of a smaller engine as I looked at the Cadillac’s V6 engine that was nearly the same size as an entire car by modern standards.
It was an event that included something for every kind of fan with new and classic European models to American Muscle. The Niello Concours is a recommended event for car fans out there whether you’re an old pro or a newcomer to the car scene.
