Space Race.
What do the creators of cars that won in Formula 1, the Indy 500, the 12 hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Daytona have in common with space travel? Legendary American racer Dan Gurney not only raced cars, but designed them with the All American Racers, a group of engineers and fabricators he formed with Carroll Shelby. Gurney was the only American to win a Grand Prix in a car of his own construction. Gurney and his team at AAR are legends of motorsport, and now they are legends of space exploration.
This past Monday when the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket recorded the first successful return to earth when it set down at Cape Canaveral, Fla it did so on carbon fiber landing legs manufactured by AAR in the Great State of California.
