STEP ONE.....
Just kidding, it's not that kind of box.
This Thursday, we throw back to the year 2004. The place, as usual, is the paddock at the Monterey Historics featuring Ferrari automobiles (pictures taken with a film camera).
What you're looking at is a big box...but not just any big box. This is what you get with you are part of Ferrari's Reparto Corse Clienti http://corseclienti.ferrari.com/2015en/championship-type/f1-clienti/ program. The moral of the story is that you buy a significant car (from vintage Formula 1 to the modern FXX series of cars) from Ferrari and they provide soup-to-nuts support for you and your Ferrari to can campaign the car in events around the world. On this particular day, before the crowds got thick, we were allowed total access into the, then relatively new, pit garages at Laguna Seca. From early spaghetti exhausted F1s to a F2003 GA Shcumacher WC machine, the Cliente brought some serious hardware. We were even treated to an extremely rare F50 GT1, which we'll feature in a future Throwback Thursday post.
At the prices significant Ferraris are fetching these days, I'll bet the combined value of the cars in the garages and the paddock (not counting all the Ferraris on the peninsula that weekend) could probably buy a mid-sized country....or at lease rent one for a few weeks.
It was a once in a lifetime experience.
Happy Thursday
