Scirroco and Roll
Via Petrolicious:
I was very excited to see the latest video from Petrolicious as it brought back so many memories. Our site co-founder had a well used '79 Scirroco when we were in college. Its funny how now its brings back happy memories because if I'm to be honest, it was a death trap. It was covered in what were described as speed blisters (rust spots), it had a hole in the passenger side floor which allowed one to see the road below and the brakes operating properly was a 50/50 proposition. On cold days the defrost didn't work so this require manual defrosting which involved the passenger (usually me) constantly wiping the interior and exterior window while at speed. The headlights put out a washed out brown color light that was weaker than most bicycle lights and would fill up with water when it rained. For some reason every time Friday night came around and it was time to head across town we would be hit with monsoon like conditions. Imagine our fun in the rain with bald tires, marginal brakes and one brown headlight. Ahh the memories. I post this today in honor of our co-founder and the legend that was the '79 Scirroco.
Thankfully the version is the video is in top condition though for how long no one knows as parts are no longer made for this beast.
