24 Heures du Mans: 2015 Edition

24 Heures du Mans: 2015 Edition

It must be the middle of June because one of our favorite races of the year is happening in the French countryside this weekend!  For those of you who are unaware, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the world's oldest active endurance race www.24h-lemans.com.  Since 1923, the worlds finest cars and racers have been blistering the 8.46 mile circuit near Le Mans, France.  Over the years, the rules have changed, the track has changed, and the cars have changed, but what has been constant is the brutal and unrelenting test of human and mechanical ability that this race showcases.

An amazing lineup.

An amazing lineup.

This year's race will feature 5 classes of cars that range from modified stock cars to prototype racers employing state-of-the-art technology and materials.  All of these cars, some reaching speeds in excess of 200 mph will be racing on the same circuit at the same time, all jockeying for victory in their respective classes as well as for the overall title.

It looks like the race coverage will be on FOX Sports 1 and 2 and you can also listen to (and watch) the always amazing www.radiolemans.com, for their incredibly comprehensive coverage of the practices, qualifying, the race and just about everything else (including the greatest voice in radio, John Hindhaugh!)  You can also monitor proceedings on www.fiawec.com.
