END OF AN ENGINE ERA

This past weekend marked the end of the 2013 Formula 1 season.  It was the final for many things, not just the season.  Several drivers saw their last race in F1 and potentially a team or two may also fail to make the cut for next year.  However the biggest change may be the end of 2.4L V8 engine in F1 as next year the regulations call for turbocharged V6's.   The 2.4L V8 debuted in the 2006 F1 Season with some teams able to push the RPMs to 22000, however the engines were limited to a paltry 18,000 rpms.   Head over to the F1 Blog for more on the history of the Renault F1 V8, now responsible for 5 driver championships and 5 constructor's titles.A Flame-Spitting Farewell To Formula 1's V8 Era
