(OK, OK, there was no TLP in 2000....but the die was cast on a day like this) This photo (yes...film photograph) was taken at the Porsche Parade here in Sacramento in the year 2000.  I don't remember the circumstances, but I must have looked especially pitiful...pitiful enough for someone to let me sit it this beast.  For those who know what car this is, you know why I'm smiling.  For those of you who don't, trust me, it's not a 911.

This car and several others were loaned out to the event by Bruce Canepa.  Believe it or not, this was the less impressive Canepa Porsche I spent time in on that day (but that picture will have to wait for another TBT).  Coincidentally, this was the first day I became aware of Mr. Canepa and his work...and for that, it was a very very good day!
