The Loud Pedal's 2022 Car Week Events Guide

The Loud Pedal's 2022 Car Week Events Guide

Well, it almost upon us. Monterey Car Week, our absolute favorite thing in the world, is August 12th-21st. For a solid week, the Monterey peninsula (and then some) becomes the center of the automotive universe. Every year we prepare an event guide and encourage you to get there, or to at least write it firmly on your bucket list. Whether you’re a high roller or a starving student, this event events happening has something for you. Events run from 100% free to $1,000+ per ticket. If you’re not into organized events, a stroll down most streets in Carmel by the Sea or downtown Monterey, or a slow cruise on 17 Mile Drive will blow your mind (oh, and the mansions and the Pacific Ocean are pretty OK too). This week offers car shows, concours events, lots of auctions, drives/cruises, vintage automobile races, exclusive automotive unveilings, literature shows and even celebrity sightings. It’s a lot, and it’s all worth your time and money no matter how much or little you decide to do.

One or the other of us has been going down to these festivities for at least 25 years. We have our core trip program down pretty good, but we try to see new things every year, and cut out things that we’re not enjoying anymore. You’ll see from the events list below that there’s plenty to do and that it’s virtually impossible to do them all. There is no right way to “do” Car Week, but no matter your plans, you’ll have a blast.

As we do some sort of Car Week preview every year, please feel free to look at our past stories to get an idea of what’s possible to do (LINK). Most events are held every year and have been for decades, and new ones pop up every year to add to the variety. If you have any questions or are looking for suggestions, please feel free to shoot us an email or DM us on any of our social media platforms.

***PLEASE NOTE THAT CONCOURS ON THE AVENUE HAS BEEN CANCELED THIS YEAR***
