Instagram at 1000
Our hashtag game is strong!
We know that only some subset of our followers view our content on Instagram, which makes the addition of our 1000th follower a noteworthy occasion to make the pitch for our Instagram page and for the app itself.
Look, neither of us actually know what we are talking about 90% of the time, and make up for that inadequacy (at least we hope) by posting lots of pretty pictures. Every event we've covered for TLP has at least one gallery of our original photographic content, and many of our platform links feature pictures one of us has taken on our various adventures. In fact, the impetus that gave birth to TLP in the first place was to create an outlet for us to post our photos (and uneducated thoughts) so that we didn't have to "bore" our friends and family with incessant car picture postings on our several social media pages. The bad news is that TLP hasn't prevented us from cluttering our personal pages with sheer tonnage of automotive content. The good news is that we've embraced Instagram as both another outlet for our passion and an inspiration to make our page better and to see what other automotive and nonautomotive photographers are able to do. Frankly, as good as we think our page is, we are constantly humbled by the depth, breadth and quality of Instagram, and use it as a reference for where we need to strive be.
To say the very least, there is no shortage of "carspotting" or automotive related pages on Instagram. We are a little cog in a big machine. What we do provide though, is a page with 100% original content and a broad range of material. Since we are a credentialed media entity these days, we can still provide standard "red meat," street level automotive goodness, but with the added value of images from behind the scenes at events that people might not otherwise have access to. Judging by the hundreds of qualitatively similar pages we've seen, we are comfortable that what we provide is worth your time. If we had a cookie cutter page of reposts and click-bait (which is fine and all,) we wouldn't waste time telling you to visit us. Our page has a good mix of Jank, randomness, exotica and the racing-ness that you've hopefully become fond of on our other platforms. The added bonus of Instagram is that our pictures aren't cluttered up by our pedestrian musings and other prose and babble. Quite simply, our page is unadulterated TLP in its purest form....pretty pictures with brief titles and obligatory hashtags. It's essentially what we started out to do and highlights our strength, as we see it (which ain't writin').
All this said, we hope you're already Instagram users and will take a look at, and follow our page. If you don't yet have an account, let this serve as an occasion to get one. Let's face it, you probably subscribe to numerous pages/apps that you've long since forgotten about. We're confident that if you give it a whirl, Instagram will somehow grab and keep your attention with the simplicity of images without a lot of the politics and fluff that dominate and/or confuse many other platforms.
Regardless, we remain thankful for all of our follower(s) on all of our platforms and hope you will continue to support us and enjoy our brand however you choose.
